On Sunday June 20 2008 ,Jim Lumsden of Ambiance and the founder of Pattaya Gay Festival, competed in the 2008 Pattaya Marathon to benefit Pattaya Gay Festival charities.

The Marathon started at 04:00 (4 am) and despite torrential rain for most of the morning Jim completed the 42 kilometre run in five hours and 10 minutes.

Jim raised a magnificent 960,000 Baht in sponsorship before the event. Then, at the Three Divas Dinner Show that evening at Le Cafe Royale, Peter and Glen of Copa Showbar (formerly Throb Splash) made a donation of 40,000 Baht to take Jim's sponsorship to a magnificent one million baht. This was then increased even further with a very generous donation of 100,000 Baht from Duck of Croatia. Then on Monday 21 July Jim received another 60,000 Baht donation making the fantastic grand total of 1,160,000 Baht

The money raised is to be used by the Pattaya Gay Festival to fund an exciting new project, helping HIV sufferers, to be announced very soon.

Will Jim be running the marathon again? "I think I could possibly do it quicker" he said. I think we will just have to wait and see.

Jim would also like to thank all of his friends, supporters and sponsors for all of their help and encouragement over the last three months of training.

Congratulations Jim, hope your legs are not aching too much!
